My Mission

What Makes Me Different From The Other DJs?

Whether you’re planning a wedding, corporate event, bar mitzvah, or any event involving music, you can count on me to guarantee that your event will be the one that your guests will not forget.

There are two types of DJs: those that perform at weddings and those that play at clubs.  With me, my clients get the best of both worlds.  I can be as involved or hidden as you would like me to be.  My goal is to make your event as memorable, not only for you, but for your parents, grandparents, and little nieces and nephews.

I have had the opportunity to work with many amazing clients and have gained invaluable experience.  Feel free to contact me regarding an interview, my rates and available dates.  I can assure that you won’t regret working with me.

My goal is to build an enterprise that will be innovative, creative, and responsive- teaching the next generation the art of reading a crowd, being responsive to peoples' needs instantly while keeping a good attitude with integrity.  Georgia Cates stated: “Music is what emotions sound like.”   I strongly agree with that statement!  I believe that DC Weddings provides the utmost skill and passion to make a couple’s BIG DAY beautiful.

My Story

How It All Began

I started recording mixed tapes when I was seven years old on a tape player with dubbing features.  I began DJing for block parties (via a FM Radio Transmitter) in Dallas, Texas when I was 11 years old, and then began to perform for weddings in my early teen years.  I have over 20 years of experience in DJing weddings.  I started DJing family and friends’ weddings via word of mouth.  I soon moved with my family to Denver, CO where I continued playing for my family and friends.  In 1998, I bought my first set of turntables and it was GAME ON!

From 2000 to 2003, I played every Friday night at the AMF Belleview Bowling Alley, and then transitioned to smaller venues (in 2004) such as: “La Salla,” “Tarantulas” (as a weekly resident), “Cosmos,” and “Cervantes.”  Later, I was invited to perform at larger nightclubs/venues such as: “The Church Nightclub,” “Rise,” “Beta,” “The Shelter’s” main floor, “The Funky Buddha,” “The Milk Bar,” “Bar Standard,” and many more.

In 2005, I was referred to the Lookout Mountain Crystal Rose Event Center; where I was able to become a professional wedding disc jockey, and increase my experience and technique, for five years.  In 2009, I registered my business (DC Weddings) with the state of Colorado and increased my experience by performing for private parties at many different venues such as: “Mile High Stadium,” “Pepsi Center,” and “Exdo” Event Center.  I was hired for a wedding ceremony and reception at “Coors Field.”

I started my residency for Dominic Roybal, at the “Retro Room Lounge and Bar” in Denver, Colorado in 2008.  Since then, he has expanded his business to three other venues: "The Sports Column," "The Side Car Lounge,” and “The Refinery,” where I currently reside monthly.

I have “thrown-down” at four different “Caffeine” Festivals at the Broomfield Event Center (as a guest of DJ Curiosity), as well as “Brain Wash 2,” “Solarfest,” and the “Fire and Ice” Art Festival in Loveland, Colorado.

I have performed for many youth events and youth groups at different churches ranging from “Friend-Days,” to summer camps, harvest festivals, to as a guest with Transform Djs at the 40th Anniversary of the “Icthus” Festival in Kentucky, the “Creation” Festival in Washington, and six “Heavenfest” Festivals in Colorado.

I helped plan, design and construct the DJ stage for Heavenfest 2010, as well as managed the sound system.  And, in 2011, I performed as a guest with Transform Djs on Heavenfest’s Main Stage.

I am a father to two beautiful girls and a husband to a wonderful wife.  God has truly blessed me and my career!  I am completely humbled by what He has done for me and I am truly amazed to see what He has given me the opportunity to be a part of!  It is my passion to bring His Light into the darkness! And with God's help, He will continue giving me the opportunity to do so.  I am going to continue living my life through God’s Torah (Word) and hope to share His love to others.  So far, He has allowed me to minister in some of the most amazing places on earth!  And one day, some way…somehow, I WILL “Throw-down” at the Red Rocks Amphitheater and Around the World!

Thank You Father for your Love and never giving up on me!!!!  Thank you Pops and Nona for all your support!  Thank you for allowing me to practice “jamming out” all hours of the night in the garage/basement; for the endless hours designing and redesigning my rigs; for the many equipment loading and unloading hours in the snow; and for all your loving guidance (both mentally and spiritually).  I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for YOU TWO!  And a BIG Thank You to all my family and friends for the support you have given me throughout all these years!!!!  I Love You All!
